Guide

Create a 2–64 team single-elimination bracket with correct byes. Record winners, update later rounds and export a printable bracket.

Choose fair seeding before the draw

Ranked seeding treats the first team as seed one and separates strong teams until later rounds. Put the ranking method in your event rules before generating the bracket. For an unranked social event, choose seeded shuffle and publish the text seed. The draw is reproducible, but the organizer still chooses the input list and seed; it is not an audited lottery.

Understand byes and match counts

A single-elimination event removes one team per played match, so n teams require n minus one matches to find a champion. The bracket uses 2, 4, 8, 16, 32 or 64 slots. Empty first-round slots create byes, which advance a team without a played match. With ranked seeding, the highest seeds receive those byes.

Record and correct results safely

Select the winner only after both participants are available. The next round fills as its feeder matches finish. If you correct an earlier winner, all later results on that route reset, preventing an eliminated team from remaining champion. Export the current SVG after each round; refreshing the page or generating a new bracket clears unsaved results. Large brackets print best on larger paper or as a multi-page poster.

How the result is made

The team count rounds up to the next power of two. Recursive seed placement separates high seeds and leaves unfilled lower-ranked seed positions empty, giving the highest-ranked seeds first-round byes. A seeded Fisher–Yates shuffle optionally assigns ranks. Advancement waits for both feeder matches; changing a result clears every dependent result. Results live only in the current page, so export before leaving.
